- November 18, 2006 - Finally, he without name has returned
to thicken my pen, and I have something new to post: Sex
Song VI. In keeping with my post-diss defense goals,
I am attempting to make my fiction a central part of my life
again. It is slow going, as I am rusty, but it's kinda of
like topping after a dry run, it just takes a few forward
thrusts to cum to life. I have a few projects under way. The
goal was to bring another page live by the end of 2006, and
maybe, I can surpass this goal. As for all this first-person
talk, my other goal is to drop it dead and get back to the
point of the site--the words.
- November 5, 2006 - I was very pleased to have caught Tim
Fish and Abby Denson speaking in Harvard Square last night.
Those familiar with the site know my work with Tim Fish, but
Abby and I had never met. It was a pleasure meeting Abby,
and I am very taken with her work. With an eye on culture,
an ear on subculture, and her pen on humanity, Denson's work
imbues the shounen-ai genre with a political relevance. All
this, and it was fun to read. Check out Denson's site at Abby
Comix and click the pic to check out "Tough Love":

- October, 2, 2006 - Decker is pleased to announce he has
defended his dissertation, so now--it's Doctor Decker! With
this goal behind me, I look forward to returning to my fiction
writing on a more regular basis. I am anxious to revisit Trace,
and along the way, some sort of gay Uber-human character has
been haunting me, but I have no idea where he will go or what
he will become yet. Check back soon for new posts!
- September 18, 2006 - Okay, Decker, where is your ass, and
why have you forsaken your readers? Well, as we all know,
I have been knee deep (keep your minds away from there) in
a dissertation. That said, I am scheduled to defend shortly.
As part of this process, today I delivered four copies of
a dissertation formatted draft to my committee members. The
draft ended up being 267 pages. For the size queens among
us, I have posted the following pic for clarification's sake.
It is hard to read the ruler, but it comes in just over one
and a half inches:
-
- August 28, 2006 - For the most clarifying article I have
read about pornography in years, follow this link.
Pornography is the expression; sexual oppression is the problem.
Excessive pornography is little more than a symptom of a repressive
culture that forces the demand for a $12 billion dollar a
year domestic porn market.
- July, 18, 2006 - Decker welcomes Anguilla to the Deckerotica
reading community. Thanks for letting me know where your reaching
out from! Check out our reading community's world footprint.
- July 12, 2006 - Time to trade, Decker is pleased to
have gotten you off, but now, he needs some, ah, attention,
please poll. I can't top forever,
reciprocity is fair play and a key to the awesome-O.
- July 7, 2006 - Thank you for the response to the last post.
If you have not yet responded, please do so here: poll.
The guest book is also a great
and easy place to leave your thoughts.
- July 7, 2006 - You can help
out by taking a moment to respond to the site's poll.
Additionally, if anyone is interested in reviewing the site
or simply sharing their thoughts about Deckerotica, I would
greatly appreciate it. Email me at decker at deckerotica.com.
Lastly, if anyone subscribes to "Unzipped" and can
share some content with me from the December 2005 issue, I'd
be a happy-boi.
- June 23, 2006 - Finally, a new story posting! I will do
the best I can, but I suspect the muse will be neglected until
fall. Frustrated by the human need to seed, Trace finds himself
faced with a new question: In Joey's
Eyes. I know it is frustrating to read a serial when
the posts are so spread out, but I refuse to write with out
an erection, so consider rereading to refresh your familiarity
with the storyline.
- May 22, 2006 - My friend is doing the AIDS Walk this June
4th. Consider supporting him here: Joe's
Support Page. Proceeds support the AIDS Action Committee.
25 years into the epidemic, it's
the least we can individually do.
- April 28, 2006 - WANTED: I am interested in suggestions
for novels dealing with lesbian or trans perspectives. Please email
your suggestions to me. BTW, I can hardly
bear it. One more month till the release of Andrew Holleran's
latest novel: "Grief: a Novel." There's simply not
enough porn and poppers to distract me from the overwhelming
anticipation.
- April 22, 2006 - The diss distracts, but I thought to post
this link for one of the most awesome video shorts I've
seen: Migrations.
- April 5, 2006 - One year after its print publication in
Alyson's "Skin & Ink," I am pleased to announce
Tracks is now posted. This is
one of my all time favorite stories. When I was writing it,
I was incapable of focusing on anything else, and I could
feel each word as I wrote it. Sometimes the fingerprints are
just that deep. I hope you enjoy it. If you are interested
in buying "Skin and Ink," visit Decker's
Bookshelf.
- March 22, 2006 - Just a note, if you are interested in trans
issues, or even if you're not, check out GenderTalk.
Hosted by Nancy Nangeroni, this weekly radio show, which can
be podcasted, is an excellent topical resource for trans persons
and those of us interested in keeping up with trans issues
and more.
- March 12, 2006 - Wow, Deckerotica has been nominated as
one of the "Best Original Story Sites" by Hunkhunters.
Pretty amazing considering my fellow nominees are huge, and
I'm just a solo act here. Always great to have the site acknowledged.
Thanks, HH. Check out the other nominees and consider adding
your vote here.
- March 5, 2006 - Given all the attention "Brokeback
Mountain" has received take a look at this page
offering a wide
range of opinions surrounding the latest gay fad or possible
cultural evolution. All depends on how you look at it. It
raises some great questions and offers a glimpse at some seriously
good ass along the way. I have also posted a page of Decker's
Dick Picks.
- March 3, 2006- For links to all of the gay comics scripted
by Decker, which are currently viewable, click here.
- February 27, 2006 - I am pleased to post I
Have a Thing about Frat Boys. My favorite line from
the story is "Ambivalence does not an earnest cocksucker
make. " However, a close runner up is "Even as a
fag, I learned to take the earnest cheerleader up on her offer
and bypass the quarterback caught between a Hail Mary cock
pass and the Act of Contrition." Ah, there is also a
third--be on the look out for it. With minimal dialogue, this
story serves as an analytic admission surrounding a desire
about frat boys. You have to love any sex story that references
Frederic Jameson in the context of diamond cutter cocks and
ass fucking. Def, was fun to write this one.
- February 21, 2006 - Too talented for one site, check out
Miss Rachel's two, count em' baby, TWO sites: DeviantART
and Hard Knock$. I am excited
to be collaborating on a project with Rachel, and you should
be too. Don't believe me--check out her art--she's got the
goods.
- February 17, 2006 - I am thrilled to announce Grinding
Curiosity: a Suburbanite finds an Urban Coffeehouse
has gone live. I scripted the comic, but my script was graced
by the artwork of Paige Braddock
and amazingly colored by Brett Hopkins.
In all, this was one of the most wonderfully collaborative
projects I have ever had the pleasure to work on, and I could
not be more pleased with the outcome. Please pass the link
on to everyone you know. In fact, scribble it on the bathroom
and subway walls. I really want to get Paige and Brett's beautiful
work out there. I would also like to thank Tim
Fish for providing me with the opportunity to work
with comix and for favoring my script with such an esteemed
placement in the Young Bottoms in Love
series finale. I would also like to congratulate him on a
fantastic run. Since 2002, this fledgling comic certainly
did everything it could to create a collaborative GLBTQplus
comix community, and it has been my pleasure to serve as a
periodic writer and frequent reader. Guess what, I may even
have a story to post soon--something about frat boys. Check
back!
- January 3, 2006 - Happy 2006,
so where the hell has
Decker been for the last bit of 2005? Well, what can I say,
I am knee deep in--get your mind out of the gutter--four dissertation
chapters, and they are kicking my sorry little ass. As for
other news, I actually do have some news, I have had an academic
article published, but as of yet, that identity is distinct
from this one, but I am currently working on a few projects
Also, check back here for an update re: my latest comic script,
which has been drawn by knock-me-out-talented Paige Braddock.
I know web promises are rather like President Bush's, and
the only Bush I trust is my mother's. That said, I assure
you, I will wrap my fingers around a story soon. I do have
some in draft form, but they need work. Have you checked out the DeckerMap
lately? Please do not forget to consider buying all your reading
and viewing needs from TLA and/or
sating your visual needs from the banner above. If you do,
your purchase will help keep this site and its archives alive
and on-demand. As always, the site's guest
book, poll and voting
opportunities are available to you--please avail yourself
of them.
