Tricking at Triangle, published in Pay for Play
by Decker Peters

Pay for Play, BSB

Decker’s short story Tricking at Triangle is now published in the anthology Pay for Play by Bold Strokes Books. The book is available as a print or ebook. Find out what happens under the cover of dark when its come to paying for play.

Here’s one of my favorite passages from the story:

“I was one of the guys who gave these men what they needed at that park. About these men, I could say a lot. For this story, I will restrict myself to one tale to de-romanticize them. Yes, spare me your straight-gone gay porn fantasy, for there is little romantic about these guys in the end.

These men live a lie, and every so often, the lie’s resolve, which allows them not to act on the impulse, falters. When this happens, they unfurl and drive out from their homes to find Triangle Park.”

Posted Now: Closer, the Conclusion?
by Decker Peters

So, what can I say, the return to the website has been, well, productive. Yet, here I am one year in, and it is getting hard to keep up with it. That said, there are plans and reasons to do more yet, so stay tuned. Any who, finally, here is the conclusion to Closer.

Franklin 1

As you read on, you will see, I believe, Romanino’s fresco made for a wonderful complement to this story’s concluding section, but for now, here is Franklin via Sean Cody to keep you reading hard. Is there any other way to read?

Regarding my approach to sexual realism via the sexual triangle, this story fits squarely within the reflective point, yet there are those who have argued this story is also very stroke, which I guess I have also come to term randy. As I’ve said before, these points re: narrative intention are more helpful than directive. Moreover, aren’t we all more in the age of reader response than literary auteur? So, in the end, who the fuck cares what I intended? This is your read–not mine. In the end, I will only add that Closer is, if you are interested in tracking my intention, perhaps more what Barthes would term a writerly tale than a top-down readerly narrative.

Here’s my favorite passage from Closer:

“Rudy hesitated before answering. He never considered himself a David collector, the equivalent of a size queen for men who only hook up with hotties. However, allowing someone into his vehicle sight unseen seemed too unselective—even for Rudy at this horny moment—even when being horny in a place such as this. Rudy pushed this thought aside as he reminded himself a blowjob is a blowjob, and he was achingly horny. ”

What I find the most interesting about Closer is how it gestures toward the next stories I want to write.  Perhaps, the time to write and tell more will come, but for now, here’s Closer, the Conclusion.

January’s Story: Closer
by Decker Peters

Dan 2

Backward to move forward? January’s story is now posted. It is titled Closer, and it comes in two parts. Find out happens when Rudy takes an exit and finds himself face to face with . . .

Here’s my favorite passage from part I:

“Shifting his attention to his rearview mirror, he adjusted it as well, so he could see two of the three tractor-trailers. While less likely, the rigs were also possibilities. They tended to be more productive for prostitutes, especially of the female type. However, since none of them worked this far out on the highway, the men within these trucks could well be options, for bi-coastal trucking readily leads to bi-curious pragmatism. These men were not Rudy’s preference.”

Whiteout, part III
by Decker Peters

Here is the final  installment of Whiteout. Part III is now posted for reading. Find out what happens when Trevor returns  home after making his purchase at the club. Look below the pic for my favorite passage from part III, which I think definitely fits the description for purple prose. I can’t get over the pic pairing from Sean Cody. Again, I am not sure this will happen again, but this time out, wow, these pics nail the characters Trevor and Christopher. As always, click the pic to find the guys at SeanCody.com. After you read, please consider using the email button at the top of the site to let me know what you thought about Whiteout–or any of the other stories. I would love to collect some reader comments for the review page.

StephenIIforWhiteout

Here’s my favorite passage from part III:

“His was the kind of cock that made service-only guys drop to their knees. Its predominant color was a warm pinkish white. A purple hue veined the underside of the shaft and perfectly bisected it from head to balls. This coloration made a suggestive subcutaneous appearance here and there over the rest of the shaft. The head itself was free from all purple coloring, and a brighter pinkish color emanated from it. The pinkish-red color shined as it was still wet with Trevor’s saliva. There was no loose flesh on Christopher’s cock. The skin wrapped hugged the shaft like a moistened towel over a loaf of rising bread. There was no saggy excess of flesh anywhere on Christopher’s cock, and if his cock was a body, its foreskin would be a ripped abdomen.”

Whiteout, part II now posted!
by Decker Peters

Pick right up where we left off in part I: Having just scrawled Christopher’s name in the snow, Trevor does something he has not allowed himself to do for a long time. Here’s one of my favorite lines from this part of the story: “Having spent so much time on the other side of the glass, where things are seen but not felt in the snow globe of gay adolescence, the kiss outpaced his senses, so Trevor kept telling himself the kiss was real.”

Read the next part at Whiteout, part II. If you haven’t read it, it is perhaps best to start with the first part: Whiteout, part I. This story will complete in three parts, so there’s one more to go.

Whiteout Part II – Coming Soon
by Decker Peters

RonnieforWhiteout

Having left Trevor scrawling Christopher’s name in the snow, check back soon for part two of Whiteout. Here’s what I love about affiliating with Sean Cody–the visual narrative. As I mentioned elsewhere on the site, I had the opportunity to write several comic scripts, where I got to write the visual–as well as-the verbal narrative. Those were powerful experiences for me as a writer as I tend to see what I write as much as I can hear it. Any who, as it goes, starting with Stephen, we now have Ronnie featured in this post. Not sure this will work for each next story, but these two guys really represent the characters as I saw them, and it is way cool to have  a visual rendering of them–at least in the case of this story. Any who, check for for part two of Whiteout.

December’s Story: Whiteout
by Decker Peters

What happens when you mix snow with sex? Trevor finds out in December’s story–Whiteout. This month’s story fits on the romance side of my approach for writing sexual realism. However, the story also pulls toward the reflective and stroke points of the triangle as well. Due to its length, Whiteout will be posted in multiple parts.

Here’s my favorite line from the first part, which I also think sums up the story: “The only one that had taught him things he had never known were possible before about what can happen when two guys share hearts as well as bodies.”

December’s Story: Announcement
by Decker Peters

The A House seems ready to rip through some events moving out from Holly Folly into the rest of the season. As for December’s story, it is titled Whiteout. It is a long story. Having run a gay erotica site since 2002, I am very familiar with the limits of posting words on the web, especially when it comes to reading paragraphs–much less whole stories. This is why I am endeavoring to produce a print collection, which I am currently working toward. Until then, it is what it is, but I have decided to post Whiteout in at least two parts. This way, it will not be so overwhelming and the story might be better able to gain a readership.
